Camping has always been an essential part of outdoor culture—deeply rooted in how people seek connection, restoration, and a different kind of time. Today, we’re seeing this long-standing tradition take on new life. For many across North America and Europe, especially younger generations and families, camping is no longer an occasional escape. It’s part of how they live. They’re planning further ahead, staying longer, and building more meaning into every trip.

At CAMEL, we’ve paid close attention to these shifts. And more importantly, we’ve listened. We hear from people rediscovering the outdoors, from families teaching kids how to build a fire, and from experienced hikers looking for comfort that doesn’t compromise performance. What connects all of them is a simple need: to feel prepared, protected, and present outside.

This is the starting point for our product design.

We focus not just on technical performance, but on the full experience. What does someone need when the temperature drops in the early hours of the morning? When sudden rain rolls in on a quiet afternoon? When they’re guiding their child through their first night under the stars? Every detail in our gear—from easy-pitch tent structures to breathable waterproof fabrics—is meant to help people stay out longer, more comfortably, and with greater peace of mind.

We don’t believe outdoor gear should compete with the experience. It should support it, quietly and reliably. A jacket should keep you dry without trapping heat. A sleeping bag should offer warmth that feels familiar, not bulky. A ground mat should help you sleep well enough to enjoy the day ahead. We design for function, but we also design for presence.

Camping isn’t always perfect. Plans change, weather shifts, and small inconveniences can become challenges. But those are the moments when connection often deepens—when people slow down, adapt, and find meaning in the unexpected. We want to make sure our gear is ready for those moments too.

At CAMEL, we’re committed to making the outdoors more accessible and more rewarding. We believe in products that empower, not intimidate. In tools that invite more people to take that first step outside, and to keep going back. Our mission is to lower the barriers to entry, while raising the standard for what outdoor life can feel like.

Because what stays with us isn’t just the view or the trail. It’s the memory of being out there, fully present—with the right people, the right gear, and the time to notice it all.

We’re proud to be part of those journeys. And we’re building for many more to come.
